[:es]Successful participation of Colombia in the “Mobility Guardian” International Exercise[:]
[:es]Successful participation of Colombia in the International Exercise “Mobility Guardian” that takes place since last July 27, 2017. 42 members of the Colombian Air Force including pilots, crewmembers, paratroopers and logistics personnel departed the Air Combat Command No. 3 in Barranquilla, in the department of Atlántico with destination Seattle, in the United States, on a plane Casa 295 to participate in the first international exercise of humanitarian operations in simulated war and natural disaster environments, “Mobility Guardian.”
This important event counts on the participation of Colombia and Brazil as the only Latin American countries that will be along with other 32 elite air forces of the world such as France, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and United States, among others.
In this way, the Colombian Air Force strengthens its capacity to be interoperable with other nations. It is also useful to position Colombia even better. It is worth noting that Colombia was one of the four countries that led the Squadron of Special Air Commandos, ECOEA, who performed demanding day and night missions skydiving at high altitude, in different scenarios.
In the same way, the Colombian Air Force led a high-altitude parachute mission with military personnel from other countries, nine Colombian paratroopers, seven from France and two from Pakistan jumped from 10,000 feet (3,048 meters), while the aircraft maintained a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. At the end of the jump the parachutists proceeded to make a tactical formation and reach the landing point according to the plans. This typical mission of special operations demonstrated the interoperability of the crews and parachutists of the Colombian Air Force together with military powers from other continents.
