The team of the Special Forces Grouping of the Colombian Military Forces achieved an outstanding performance by obtaining the second place in the international competition Fuerzas Comando 2026, held in the Republic of Paraguay. This important military test brought together elite units from 17 countries of the American continent, in a highly demanding environment of military and technical operations that tested the responsiveness, discipline and strategic level of competitors.
The first place of this edition was won by the delegation of the Dominican Republic, while the Colombian representation ratified its historical position as one of the most prepared in the hemisphere.
During the competition, the Colombian commandos faced rigorous tactical and physical tests designed to simulate real environments of transnational crime fighting and anti-terrorist operations. The contest included precision shooting circuits with short and long weapons, high-precision marksman courses, high-demanding obstacle courses, walking races with load, hostage rescue maneuvers and mental strength assessment exercises under extreme conditions.
In each of these disciplines, the national delegation stood out for its technical skill, speed of execution and accuracy, remaining in the first places of the general classification throughout the contest.
Colombia has always been a protagonist in this military competition. The national delegation not only competes at the highest level, but is also a doctrinal and tactical reference for the other participating countries. Their constant performance reflects the technical preparation, the cohesion of the team and the rigor of the daily training of the men and women who make up the country's special units.
