Two arrests and one death in the framework of the military operation.
The troops of the Third Brigade reported, within the framework of military operations, the death of a member of the organized armed group (GAO) Clan del Golfo and the finding of important war material and communications.
Within the framework of the operations against organized armed groups, troops of the Third Brigade of Colombian National Army executed an operation in the rural area of the municipality of El Dovio, Valle del Cauca, with the objective of directly hitting this criminal structure.
During the mission, the troops engaged in combat against alleged members of the GAO Clan del Golfo, Valle Substructure. As a result, the death of an individual belonging to that criminal network took place in the framework of the military operation.
In this military operation, three scanners were in the same way found, three motorcycles allegedly used for illegal activities, a Mini Uzi submachinegun, a 9mm caliber pistol and six cell phones that would be used to coordinate criminal operations.
In addition, it was possible to find abundant material and military accessories, including 49 units of campaign equipment that were being transported in an NPR-type vehicle by two people, who planned to hand it over to this criminal structure.
Thanks to the timely operation of the troops, it was possible to intercept the shipment and arrest the individuals, who were put into custody of the authority to continue with the corresponding judicial process.
This result represents a significant blow to the logistical and military operations resources of the GAO Clan del Golfo in this region of the country, and shows the firm commitment of the Colombian National Army to security, peace and legality throughout the national territory.
The military operations will continue in a sustained manner and coordinated with the other State institutions, until obtaining the complete dismantling of the structures that threaten the tranquility of Colombians.
