The Colombian Aerospace Force, FAC, through the National Personnel Recovery Center, CENRP, coordinated an aeromedical evacuation from the municipality of Cubará, department of Boyacá, to the Hospital del Sarare, in Saravena, department of Arauca, with the purpose of working for the specialized medical assistance of a baby and two elderly adults, who required to be taken to a hospital of greater complexity.
The mission was carried out by the Casanare Air Group in a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, configured Angel, used to transfer the patients because the terrain conditions made it difficult to transport them by land. During the flight, the crew ensured the safety and well-being of the patients, working to ensure their timely transfer to the care center.
This type of missions strengthens the care of medical emergencies in regions where geographical conditions represent a challenge for timely access to specialized health services, contributing to reduce response times and facilitating the referral of patients who require more complex care.
