With specialized medical assistance, technology for the early detection of breast cancer and the distribution of humanitarian aid, more than two thousand people benefited.
In an inter-institutional work and with the firm commitment to reach the most remote regions of the national territory, the humanitarian campaign Sailing to the Heart of the Guaviare successfully ended, an activity led by the Colombian Navy, through the Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 32, in coordination with the Guaviare Governorate, the Mayor's Office of Mapiripán, the Minuto de Dios Corporation, the E.S.E. San José del Guaviare, the Arturo Calle Foundation and the Nueva Granada Humanitarian Mission.
For seven days, the ARC Ariari and ARC Río Vichada river patrol boats toured the Guaviare River, bringing specialized medical assistance, humanitarian aid and wellbeing to communities in hard-to-reach areas, in the departments of Meta and Guaviare.

This humanitarian activity, which toured the communities of El Mielón and Puerto Alvira in the department of Meta, as well as the Barrancón and Raudal del Guayabero in the department of Guaviare, provided 303 consultations in general medicine, 424 in pediatrics, 80 in gynecology, 42 in general surgery, 70 psychological care and 120 inter-consultations. In the same way, 30 minor surgical procedures were carried out, 165 cures were conducted, 335 medical prescription were issued and 87 instructions on health issues, self-care and prevention of common diseases were imparted.
The campaign in the same way brought well-being through the distribution of 1,282 items of clothing, 30 wheelchairs for people with reduced mobility, 737 personal and family hygiene kits, 435 school kits, 108 food baskets and food supplement was also distributed.
