COMMANDER OF THE COLOMBIAN AEROSPACE FORCE

GENERAL LUIS CARLOS CÓRDOBA
General Luis Carlos Córdoba Avendaño is born in Buga, Valle del Cauca; he graduated as a Pilot Officer of the Military Aviation School in 1989 and as an Aeronautical Administrator of the Aeronautical Military Institute in 2001.
He has a Specialization in Management at the Externado University of Colombia, he graduated with a Master's Degree in Strategic Studies, with an emphasis on Counterterrorism at the National Defense University, in Washington and he has a Master's Degree in National Security and Defense, of the Superior School of War in Colombia.
During his years of service in the Colombian Aerospace Force, he has held several positions including : Manager of the Air Service to National Territories-Satena, Deputy Director General of Civil Aeronautics, Commander of the Military Transport Air Command-CATAM, Commander of the Air Combat Command No. 6 and Chief of Staff of the Air Combat Command No.1.
In his performance as Military Pilot, he has operated several aircrafts accumulating about 6,000 flight hours. Among the most important recognitions and distinctions he have received there are the military medals for Valor, distinguished services in Law and order, Silver Cross in special operations, Faith in the Cause of the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Order of Boyacá.
