Bogota D.C., July 26, 2026. The 2026 edition of the Gratitude mail was launched at the Plaza de las Américas Shopping Center, a campaign that for 15 years has promoted the recognition of Colombians towards the men and women of the Military Forces and the National Police for their permanent commitment to the security, defense and coexistence of the country.
With the participation of more than 2,000 families, the event marked the beginning of a new edition of this initiative, which since 2011 has distributed about 1.9 million letters to members of the Military Forces in the different regions of the national territory.
During the launch ceremony, the acting Minister of National Defense, Angélica Verbel López, highlighted that the Gratitude Mail has become a symbol of the recognition of Colombians towards those who serve the country with honor and vocation. He in the same way invited citizens to keep this tradition alive, recalling that each letter represents a message of support, hope and gratitude for the men and women who fulfill their mission far of their families.
As part of the commemoration of its 15th anniversary, the Gratitude Mail will travel through 12 military and police units, carrying messages of admiration, support and hope to those who, with honor and vocation of service, fulfill the mission of protecting Colombians.
Cartasasoldadosypolicias@mindefensa.gov.co is ready to receive, during the Holiday season, the letters that will be shared through the institutional broadcasters to accompany the members of the Military Forces who remain at the service of the Nation throughout the national territory.
