A clear operation of violation of human rights and international humanitarian law was carried out by this group outlaw, which entered the school of the Horizonte village, in a rural area of the department of Huila; an action that generated terror and anxiety among the inhabitants.
Troops of the Colombian National Army, engaged armed combats with a structure of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, frente Ismael Ruiz, which is under the orders of alias Libardo González. There, a man known by the alias of Brayan, who would be the head of security for the ringleader of this structure, was killed in the framework of military operations.
Members of the GAO residual frente Ismael Ruiz, in the middle of this armed combat, went towards the school in the Horizonte village, on the borders between the departments of Huila and Tolima, clearly violating international humanitarian law and human rights.
It should be noted that there were minors inside the school receiving their classes, and once the armed group outlaw enters, terror and anxiety are generated among children, parents and teachers who were in the school.
In the frame of the reprehensible act of taking minors and people in general as human shields, Colombian National Army, in attendance to the rights of children and adolescents and people in general, waited for them to be evacuated by the teachers and put in a safe place to continue with the maneuver, protecting the life and good condition of the minors and the community.
While the soldiers were providing security to the minors and their companions, the members of this group fled the place, minutes later more than 60 people near the Horizonte village, who were being utilized by this group outlaw, carried out a sedition and forcibly took the lifeless body altering the place of the facts, an operation that is considered a violation of the chain of custody.
