The Colombian Navy during coordinated operations with the National Police, reported arresting 10 alleged members of the Manuel José Gaitán substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo in different places of the department of Sucre.
The arrests were possible in the urban area of the municipalities of Tolú and Coveñas, where navy men of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Sucre with the support of officials of the Technical Investigation Corps – CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office and units of the Criminal Investigation Section – SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE), complied with ten search warrants issued by the Prosecutor's Office 16 Sincelejo Sectional, for the alleged crimes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
Thanks to the permanent deployment of the members of the Military Forces in the area, and to the denunciations filed by the community, it was possible to arrest alias “El Rulo”, alias “El Pibe”, alias “El Jovanny”, alias “El Carlito”, alias “El Mellito”, alias “El Nirry”, alias “La Flaca”, alias “Javier”, alias “El Negro” and alias “El Cojo”.
These individuals, alleged members of this criminal organization, who apparently were engaged in trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics in the municipalities of Tolú and Coveñas, were put into custody of the 16th Sincelejo – Sucre Sectional Prosecutor's Office.
