These structures generated serious environmental damage to the region and its water sources.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, and in order to attack the illegal activities of groups outlaw, Colombian National Army, the Aerospace Force and the National Police carried out the finding and destruction of 10 illegal petroleum refineries in the rural area of the municipality of Tib煤, Norte de Santander.
The military and police officers arrived at the Ca帽o Victoria village, where these rudimentary pools were found by troops with petroleum stolen from the Ca帽o Lim贸n-Cove帽as pipeline, which is processed to then be used in the production of narcotic substances. In the place it was in the same way possible to evidence the environmental damage that has been generated due to the distillation of fuels.
At the time of the operation, more than 70,000 gallons of fuel, 10 distillation towers, 5 electric pumps, 2 electricity generators, 8 petroleum storage pools, wooden structures and other elements used for fuel production were found by troops.
Once the area was verified, all the refineries were destroyed in controlled conditions. According to the analysis, these precursors would cost more than 500 million pesos.
In this way, the soldiers of the Vulcano Task Force continue to carry out interception operations against illicit activities.
