In the last month the Unified operation Groups for Personal Freedom, Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), have managed to arrest 148 criminals for the crime of extortion, 14 for kidnapping and 80 for other crimes.
Thanks to the immediate and effective reaction, together with rigorous planning and citizen cooperation, it has been possible to prevent the payment of $234,079,000 COP for extortions. As well as $2,000,000 COP for kidnappings during this period of the year.
One of the most relevant operations was then one carried out by the Gaula of the Department of Chocó, which, in coordination with the SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) of the National Police, arrested in the municipality of Quibdó nine members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, structure Jairo de Jesús Durango Restrepo.
Those arrested, with extensive criminal records, are alias Larry, who is responsible for several murders in the northern area of Quibdó by 2019 and 2021, alias Querue, in charge of the sale and distribution of narcotics in the southern part of Quibdó; alias Piolín, hitman responsible for several murders in the northern part of Quibdó; he was currently the bodyguard alias Yimmi, the main ringleader of this criminal structure in the municipalities of Lloró and Certeguí.
In the same way, alias Ramirito, hitman and responsible for the collection of money from extortive fees against merchants in the region; alias Quibdó hitman in the municipality of Río Quito, who participated in several homicides carried out by 2019 and 2021.
There was in the same way alias Mate, who promoted the collection of money from extortions in the municipality of Unión Panamericana, in the Department of Chocó; alias Felipito, a hit man for the criminal structure; alias Chacho, bodyguard of several ringleaders in the San Juan area and he was also a urban ringleader in the Alamos neighborhood of Quibdó; another individual wanted by the Colombian justice system for the crime of association to commit aggravated crimes for extortive purposes was also captured.
With this result, a powerful blow was possible not only against the logistics of the gang, but against its finances.
