In fulfillment of the Bicentenary Campaign Plan Heroes de Libertad, the Joint Task Force of the Stabilisation and Consolidation Hercules in military operations, including the National Army, and inter agency with the office of the Prosecutor General of the Nation obtained the arrests in flagrante delicto of 16 alleged members of the residual Organized Armed Group Oliver Sinisterra, five were brought to justice and the material of war and accessories in the military were found in the  municipality Sindagua, in Llorente, district of Tumaco, Nariño.

In the military operation troops of the Jungle Battalion No.53, after two hours of combat against members of this structure, arrested these individuals, among whom there are alias Iván, alias Toto and alias Tayson, ringleaders of this criminal organization; those arrested were taken under strict security measures to the urban area of the District of Tumaco, respecting all their rights under international Humanitarian law, by military personnel.

According to information from Military Intelligence, this structure would be generating confrontations for the control of drug trafficking against members of the residual GAO Urías Rondón, rural area of the municipality of Llorente District of Tumaco, as well as those responsible for the forced displacement of the communities in Alto Mira and the border.

During the operation, it was possible to find 23 rifles, an M60 machinegun, a high-precision rifle, five hand grenades, 13 bracelets, a computer, two electric detonators, 107 magazines, 13,000 cartridges of different calibres, communications material and military accessories for the exclusive use of the Military Forces.

The material and the individuals put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.

It is important to note the strengthening of the institutional control of the territory and the binational work with the brother country of Ecuador, which has led to fight against the factors of instability in this region as drug trafficking, illegal mining, irregular migration and transnational crime, as well as the cooperation mechanisms that have been taken to strengthen the intelligence (proactive and preventive) to prevent the organized armed groups from conducting terrorist operations against civilians, the Military Forces and critical infrastructure of the State.

With this result troops hit the component of this criminal organization, responsible for killings, acts of crime and clashes with other structures who perpetrate drug trafficking, assisting the recommendations of the early warning 04 and 044 2018 issued by the office of the Ombudsman, which consists in the adoption of prevention and protection measures that will safeguard the rights to life, liberty and security of the inhabitants.
