Following the request by the Meta Governorate, the aircraft Cassa 295 of the Military Transport Air Command (CATAM) was immediately sent to transfer 18 tons of humanitarian support from CACOM2. This aid consists of food baskets and medical supplies for the Macarena community that has been hit by the pandemic.
Due to its geographical position, La Macarena is a place of difficult access. Arriving by land, vehicles take about a day to arrive from the center of the country. For this reason, the capabilities of the Colombian Air Force are available to reduce time and supply this region of the country with the main products for consumption.
The security, hygiene and biosecurity protocols established by the Ministry of Health for the transportation of provisions were strictly followed to guarantee the transportation of these foods and supplies to solve the essential needs of the people.
