The Army has neutralized the threat of the indiscriminate use of explosive devices planted by the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 33, in the Catatumbo region.
Through the execution of military operations carried out by troops of the National Army, it was possible to neutralize a terrorist operation by finding and destroying a hideout of explosives with 180 anti-personnel mines that were arranged to be operated against the Military Forces and would belong to the residual GAO Structure 33.
These high-powered devices were found by troops in the municipality of La Angalia in the municipality of Tib煤, which were not visible to the soldiers, who were working on the eradication of coca plantations.
It should be noted that our men specialists in explosives and demolitions carried out the controlled destruction of this important illegal hideout with anti-personnel mines, which would be used by members of the criminal organization GAO residual Structure 33, to indiscriminately harm our men and civilians who daily travel through the tertiary roads of this region.
In the same way, it is important to mention that in the year 1,200 explosive devices have been found by the National Army, in the department of Norte de Santander, safeguarding the good physical condition of the different groups, peasants, social sectors and community among others who are engaged in farming on the rural areas of the municipality of Tib煤.
