In 2024, the Sixth Brigade dealt powerful results in terms of security, including the recovery of several minors who had been recruited by the dissidents in other departments, and brought to Tolima with deceptions, lies and threats.
The Sixth Brigade of Colombian National Army has carried out strategic operations against the dissidents group Ivan Mordisco, and one of these has been the recovery of 19 minors who had been forcibly recruited by the dissidents.
Within the framework of the military operation against the Ger贸nimo Galeano Structure, a minor was recovered, days before this operation a minor, aged 14, recruited by the GAO-r Frente Ismael Ruiz had been recovered.
Subsequently, in the south of Tolima, operations were carried out against the organized armed group Frente Ismael Ruiz. There it was possible, throughout 2024, the recovery of 9 minors, including the one who was in charge of handling a drone loaded with explosives; this minor would be responsible for hitting the airstrip of the municipality of Planadas, in the month of November.
In the north of Tolima, the troops dismantled the GAO-r 26 de Marzo Front, of the Isa铆as Pardo Bloc; there, in the first procedure, it was possible to recover a minor, 16 years old, who was in charge of operating the drone with which the Anzo谩tegui police station had been hit three times. In this operation, it was possible to recover two minors, a 13-year-old and a 17-year-old, to make three arrests and report the death in the framework of military operations of alias M铆ller, the ringleader of this front.
In the same way, three minors were recovered, given that it was established, that they were being used for the marketing and distribution of narcotics.
In addition, the laudable mission of the soldiers is highlighted, who prevented the recruitment of two minors who had been contacted through social networks by alias Camilo, a member of the GAO-r Frente Ismael Ruiz, who planned to take them out of the department of Tolima, bound for Caquet谩.
The Sixth Brigade rejects the use of minors, many from departments such as Cauca, Nari帽o and Valle del Cauca, an action that flagrantly violates human rights.
Finally, it should be noted that this Unit has put into custody of the ICBF and the Ombudsman's Office all minors recovered of the hands of FARC dissidents.
