249 explosive devices have been destroyed from 2016 to date, in the department of Tolima.

So far this year, soldiers of the Humanitarian Demining Engineers Battalion No. 2 have managed to clear 49,820 square meters of the department of Tolima, in the municipalities of Planadas, Rioblanco, Dolores, Chaparral, Ortega, Roncesvalles, Rovira, Cajamarca and Ibagu茅, whose work is progressing.

There are more than 15 demining units, which work centimeter by centimeter to find and destroy the threat that may put the lives and physical condition of hundreds of Colombians at risk.

This is how in the clearing work, the military officers have destroyed seven explosive devices that generated fear in people, because they had been planted in plantations, villages and near houses.

From 2016 to date, mine clearance specialists have destroyed 143 antipersonnel mines and 106 units of unexploded ordnance in the department ofTolima.

Although the region already has 15 decontaminated municipalities, the soldiers continue to work to declare the department as territory free of suspicion of antipersonnel mines.
