292 minors who had been recruited by organized armed groups have been recovered by Colombian National Army

292 menores que habían sido reclutados por los grupos armados organizados han sido recuperados por el Ejército Nacional

The Organized Armed Groups, GAO-residual, GAO ELN and GAO Clan del Golfo continue to forcibly recruit children and adolescents in the country, demonstrating a clear violation of their rights, denying them freedom, education, free development and family coexistence.

Within the framework of the Campaign Plan of the Ayacucho military Operation and under its lines of work LOO Pumponá and LOE Tenerife, focused on protecting the inhabitants, the troops have recovered 292 minors in this 2024, who were handed over to the ICBF and the authorities to restore their rights.

The departments in which the greatest recovery of minors has been made are Antioquia, Cauca, Valle del Cauca and Chocó department. This is a demonstration of the resources of men to combat this war crime, where illegal groups deny future generations their fundamental rights and the possibility of building a life project, as foreseen by international standards in the field of human rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

We reject this illegal actions of forced recruitment, which endangers the life and good physical condition of minors in the different regions of Colombia; that is why we invite communities to denounce these facts through line 147 to protect future generations together.

Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to protect and defend the inhabitants, especially children and adolescents, thus contributing to the creation of an environment of peace, security and development that leads to maintain the constitutional order.
