The staff of the Naval Institution carried out the corresponding assessment of the four people, determining that they had no complications in their state of health.
As part of naval operations, the Colombian Navy rescued four people of Colombian nationality who remained adrift for approximately two days, allegedly due to failures in the propulsion system of their ship.
The search and rescue operation began when a Rapid Reaction Unit (RRU) of the Gorgona Coast Guard Station was conducting maritime patrols and found the boat Don Tury, with four crew members on board.
The Captain of the boat said that they had been adrift on the journey between Nuquí and Bahía Solano, without having means of communication that would led them to timely alert the maritime authorities about their emergency situation.
Once rescued, the four people were evaluated by personnel of the Naval Institution, who confirmed that they had no effects on their health condition. They were later transferred to a safe harbor.
In the same way, the coordination was carried out with the boat Pablo David to carry out the towing maneuver of the ship to the port of Buenaventura.
The Colombian Navy reaffirms its permanent commitment to the safeguarding of human life at sea and in the country's rivers. It in the same way calls on navigators to act responsibly, carrying at all times the mandatory safety elements such as life jackets, first aid kit and communication equipment, and complying with navigation rules to prevent emergencies.
