Within the framework of the Joint Campaign Plan Ayacucho, in a joint operation, the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army found 3,180 kilograms of marijuana, in a rural area of the municipality of López de Micay, in the department of Cauca.

Units of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.42 of the Colombian Navy and Infantry Battalion No.56 of Colombian National Army, arrived at the village Punta de Coco, where they found two illegal hiding places containing inside 4,929 packages with characteristics of color and smell similar to those of marijuana. In the same way, in the area there was a boat, two engines, three shotguns, a .38 caliber revolver, a pistol, five lead pellets and eight cartridges of different calibers.

The illegal merchandise was transported to the facilities of the Colombian Navy in Guapi - Cauca, where the Judicial Investigation Section – SIJÍN, of the National Police carried out the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, which left a positive result for 3,180 kilograms of marijuana.

It is presumed that the marijuana, the boat and the weapons belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group E6 Jaime Martínez, who commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific and receives money from drug trafficking to finance their illegal activities.

The material found was put into custody of the Judicial Investigation Section - SIJÍN of Guapi - Cauca.
