32 cubic meters of wood were found in Caquetá

cogfm-ftcomega-en-caqueta-hallan-32-metros-cubicos-de-madera-en-bloque-22.jpg

To obtain this material, the criminals had to chop down 40 native and large trees, which cause deforestation in this region of the country.

It should be noted that the illicit use of renewable natural resources and damage to natural resources are criminalized in the articles 328 and 331 of law 599 of 2000.

In compliance to the guidelines of the Bicentenary Operations Heroes of Freedom Plan, and in the framework of the preservation of the water, the biodiversity and natural resources, the land, sea and air units of the Joint Task Force Omega, the National Police and the Attorney’s General Office, in the last few days carried out a joint, coordinated and interagency operation, which led to find an illegal hideout for the storage of wood, which was obtained from the indiscriminate felling of trees in the Amazonas.

The 32 cubic meters of block wood were found by troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.31 and the Ground Operations Battalion No.3 in the village of El Billar, municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, Caquetá.

The material was taken aboard a boat along the Caguán River to the facilities of the Battalion of the National Navy to put it into custody of the Environmental Authority Corpoamazonia.

Apparently these wooden blocks belong to criminal organizations that commit crimes under the command of alias Gentil Duarte.
