In the course of two operations conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army and the National Police, four alleged members of the Los Shottas and Los Espartanos substructures were arrested; they were at the service of the Organized Gang Grupo La Local in the District of Buenaventura – Valle del Cauca
The arrest of alias Lalo, alias Calentura and alias Salserin, alleged members of the Los Shottas substructure, was carried out in a coordinated manner conducted by the troops of the Naval Institution and the National Police in the Matia Mulumba neighborhood in locality 12 of Buenaventura, where the personnel of the Military Forces arrived to make effective an arrest warrant and carry out the search for the alleged crimes of association to commit crimes for the purposes of extortion and forced displacement; in the same way a pistol was seized, a magazine and 14 cartridges.
In the second operation carried out by the Colombian Navy jointly with the National Army and coordinated with the National Police, an individual was arrested in flagrante delicto who apparently would be part of the Los Espartanos substructure, an Organized Gang that is accused of carrying out extortions, kidnappings, selective homicides, microtrafficking, and attacks against the Military Forces.
The facts took place in El Cristal neighborhood in the Ocho locality in Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca, where the individual, noticing the work of the Military Forces, started to escape, upon entering the place, the authorities found inside war material including 13 firearms, 13 magazines and 24 cartridges of different calibers that apparently belonged to the Los Espartanos substructure.
The material found and the arrested individuals were put into custody of the authorities.
The constant work of the Military Forces in the different communities of the Colombian Pacific coast and the sustained development of operations aim to deny urban, rural, maritime and river spaces to criminal organizations that cause fear in the inhabitants of the region. In the same way, troops work to protect the human rights of the different communities and neutralize the intentions of the actors that generate violence.
