6,942 terrorist operations have been neutralized by Colombian National Army

6.942 acciones terroristas han sido neutralizadas por el Ejército Nacional

FARC dissidents have been responsible for 91% of the anti-personnel mines and explosive devices destroyed by the military forces in the national territory in 2024.

 

Within the framework of the Campaign Plan of the Ayacucho military Operation 2023-2026, and under its lines of work LOO Pumponá and LOO Paya, focused on protecting the inhabitants and weakening resources of the threats, the troops have destroyed in controlled conditions 3,958 anti-personnel mines and 2,984 explosive devices planted by illegal groups that seek to hit communities and troops in different areas of the country.

 

The use of these illicit means and methods of warfare, which constitute a clear violation of human rights and a violation of international humanitarian law, is attributed 91% to the GAO-r, 4% to the GAO ELN, 4% to the GAO Clan del Golfo and 1% to organized crime groups.

 

The departments where the specialized EXDE, EXDE DELTA and MARTE teams have carried out the most neutralizations are Meta, with 2,672; Putumayo, 1,940; Nariño, 512; Valle del Cauca, 352; Cauca, 309 and Caquetá, 213, demonstrating the effectiveness and capacity of the troops in the destruction of these elements.

 

In addition, 3,884 kilograms of explosives and 2,445 meters of detonating cord have been destroyed, elements used to conduct these terrorist operations that especially hit children and peasants, who are victims of these illegal operations.
