The operation was carried out in conjunction with the National Army and the National Navy, to arrest these eight individuals. War material and military accessories of the Military Forces were seized.

In development of the Sanquianga Seguro strategy, units of the Hercules Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force, arrested eight individuals, alleged members of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Alfonso Cano Western Bloc structure, in the Las Varas village of the municipality of Santa Bárbara de Iscuande, Nariño.

Through Military Intelligence, units of the Pegaso Operational Command and units of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4 these individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition; they would allegedly be responsible for carrying out criminal intelligence, to beat the soldiers and navy men who carried out military operations in this region.

During the operation it was possible to find five rifles, four shotguns, communication equipment, magazines, abundant ammunition and garments for the exclusive use of the Military Forces. The arrested and the material found were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.

With this type of operations, the Hercules Joint Task Force, in its coordinated work with the different institutions that work in the territory, demonstrates its permanent commitment to ensure the safety and tranquility of the citizens who live on the Pacific coast of Nariño.
