Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy rescued eight people; two Colombians and six Venezuelans, crew members of a boat for the maritime transport of cargo, which had an emergency while sailing in Colombian waters.
The facts took place yesterday afternoon when the cargo ship, reported through the Navy VHF Channel 16 to the Maritime Traffic Control System of Santa Marta, a water inlet to its engine room, so they requested support of the Naval Institution to evacuate the crew and bring them to safety.
Immediately, a Rapid Reaction Unit of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station was deployed, which found the boat approximately 70 miles of the sea buoy of this city, transporting the eight people to safe harbor.
