870 police officers have been wounded amid violent acts during demonstrations

79 arrests for violence against public servants

Regarding what happened with the patrolman Yeison Rivera, attacked with acid, in the middle of the demonstration activities in the Santander Park, downtown Bogotá, the Police make a report of the members of the national police who have been injured during the strike.

 

"The ESMAD patrolman was attacked with acid, fortunately protective elements such as a helmet and a cloth cover prevented injuries to his face. As him, there are 870 injured, including 55 women during these last 15 days", explained the director of health of the Police, General Manuel Vásquez.

 

According to the police, 870 members of the Military Forces have been injured, 727 of them with a blunt force object, 99 with a sharp knife, 19 by activation of explosive devices, 12 with a firearm, 5 with a traumatic weapon and 1 with a chemical agent.

 

"We have a captain killed in Soacha, several men who have been Intensive Care Unit and one remains with a reserved prognosis," Vásquez said.

 

The police in the same way highlighted that, so far, there are 79 arrests for violence against public servants.
