About 3,000 members of the Military Forces will be in charge of security this Easter in the Amazonas department

The Sixth Division of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police, will ensure the safety and tranquility of tourists this Easter in the departments of Caquetá, Putumayo and Amazonas.

 

In order to strengthen security in the of area of responsibility during Holy Week, the Sixth Division of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police, has arranged more than 3,000 men and women, who will carry out institutional control operations over strategic points, which will lead to support the activity of the Semana Mayor.

 

Thirty-four platoons of the National Army will maintain their security operations and search and control operations on the roads of the departments of Caquetá, Putumayo and Amazonas. Land resources will in the same way be put into operation with the patrols of our Urban Special Forces soldiers and our Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), in the rivers of our Colombian Amazon, where river support boats will be available. On the other hand, the air component of the Air Force will have aircraft available, to work to raise security from the air.

 

During this Holy Week, the Sixth Division of the National Army will have all its land and air means ready with the aim of working so that tourists can be transported safely along the important roads of the Colombian Amazon.
