The seizure of the drug occurred through the elimination of three coca-growing complexes that would be part of the GAO-r illicit finances.
Troops of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats, CONAT, jointly and coordinated with the Colombian Aerospace Force and the National Police, found in the Peña de los Ángeles village of San Andrés de Tumaco, department of Nariño, three laboratories for the production of illicit substances, that would cost 46,846 million pesos.
The coca complex, made of 25 structures, would belong to the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Ivan Ríos Structure. At the site, the troops seized 2906 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 6260 gallons of cocaine in process, 6850 gallons of cocaine base, in addition to 1940 kilograms of solid precursors and 5075 gallons of liquid substances.
In the same way, 9 distillation towers, 3 hydraulic presses, 27 microwave ovens, 8 motor pumps and 3 electric generators were destroyed.
With military intelligence information it was established that the laboratories had a monthly production capacity of three tons; the drug produced at this site was being taken out of the country through the Colombian Pacific coast, using mobility routes in the department of Nariño, the final destination of the narcotic being the country of Mexico and the United States its destination.
Through these actions, Colombian National Army reduces the economic capacity of the armed groups that converge on the national territory, those that generate anxiety among the communities. In the same way, troops take about 3 million doses of cocaine off the streets.
