About a ton and a half of cocaine hydrochloride found in the Colombian South Pacific

Incautada cerca de tonelada y media de clorhidrato cocaína en el Pacífico sur colombiano

As part of naval operations, the Colombian Navy intercepted a ship manned by two Ecuadorians and a Colombian, who were transporting about a ton and a half of cocaine hydrochloride.

Thanks to information provided by Naval Intelligence, units of the Coast Guard Station of Tumaco detected a ship, which was traveling suspiciously 197 nautical miles of the district of San Andrés de Tumaco, department of Nariño.

A Rapid Reaction Unit -URR was immediately deployed to intercept the ship. When carrying out the operation, 62 bags were found by troops inside, which, by their characteristics, resembled illicit substances.

The three individuals, along with the items found, were taken to the facilities of the Tumaco Coast Guard Station, where officials of the Technical Investigation Corps -CTI of the Attorney General's Office conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, determining that the packages contained 1,344 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. The arrested personnel and the items found were put into custody of the authorities for the respective prosecution process.

This result makes possible an economic loss of more than 64 million dollars, which stopped entering the criminal organizations. In the same way, the commercialization of more than 3.3 million doses on the streets of the world was prevented.
