As part of the Colombian Navy's ongoing operation against drug trafficking, 1,081 kilograms of marijuana and 776 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops in the rural area of the department of Choc贸.
Units of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.22 of the Colombian Navy attached to the Joint Task Force Titan, arrived in the rural area of the municipality of Nuqu铆, department of Choc贸, where they found hidden in the undergrowth an illegal hideout containing inside 2,015 rectangular packages, whose color and odor characteristics resembled cocaine and marijuana.
On board a Colombian Navy ship, the illegal merchandise was transported to the Special District of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca, where the judicial authorities carried out the Approved Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH - which left a positive result for 1,081 kilograms of marijuana and 776 kilograms of cocaine.
It is presumed that this illegal hiding place would belong to the Baud贸 substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, who intended to send the drugs to Central America. With this finding, the Naval Institution prevented more than 33 million dollars from entering the criminal groups that commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific.
