Convencion, Norte de Santander. In compliance with the Victory Stabilization and Consolidation Campaign Plan, in the framework of the military and police campaign 'Esparta', in development of operations by troops of the Vulcano Task Force, a unit of the Second Division of the National Army, continue to damage the illicit economies of armed groups.
In recent hours, troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No. 10 of the Vulcano Task Force, in the municipality of Convención, in the Mata Lucaica village, department of Norte de Santander, it was possible to find and destroy a production of narcotics laboratory with 1,210 gallons of coca base paste in process, 10 kilograms of ammonia sulfate, a series of chemical precursors used by the criminal groups for the production of this narcotic drug.
These military operation and territorial control continue to be carried out in the Catatumbo region, providing conditions of security and defense of the population, providing successful results that neutralize the illegal finances and operations of armed groups who commit crimes in this area of the country.
