Aeromedical evacuations led to the transfer of wounded soldiers to Cali, in the department of Cauca

Evacuaciones aeromédicas permitieron trasladar a soldados heridos en el Cauca hasta Cali

After being injured by explosive devices launched by drones in rural areas of the department of Cauca, three soldiers of Colombian National Army were urgently evacuated thanks to the aeromedical resources of the Colombian Aerospace Force, in order to safeguard their lives and led their transfer to a specialized medical center.

Crews of the UH-60 helicopter of the Air Combat Command No. 7 took off for the municipalities of Argelia and Miranda, where military personnel required urgent transfer due to the severity of their injuries. These missions are carried out in coordination with the National Personnel Recovery Center and with the ground units to work for the rapid extraction of members of the Military Forces.

The first evacuation was carried out in the village of El Plateado, in the municipality of Argelia, in the Micay canyon, on the Western Cordillera, an area of high strategic complexity due to the activity of illegal armed groups and exitance of illicit plantations. One of the soldiers was taken there. Later, the aircraft moved to the rural area of the municipality of Miranda, where the other two wounded soldiers were picked up.

During the flight, the three members of Colombian National Army received permanent assistance from rescuers, who conducted hemorrhage control and constant monitoring of the vital signs of the patients until their arrival in the city of Cali, department of Valle de Cauca. Once on the ground, the three injured were handed over to specialists of the Valle del Lili Clinic to continue with the medical evaluation and the necessary procedures for their recovery.

The Colombian Aerospace Force ratifies its commitment to effectively use its air, technical and human resources to protect life, strengthen joint operations and contribute to the security and defense of the national territory.
