Aeromedical transfer benefited mother of Providence Island

A patient in the Island of Providencia, who required handling and control in San Andr茅s, was transferred by personnel specialized in aeromedical transfer missions, in a Caravan C208-B type aircraft of the Colombian Air Force.

The 30-year-old woman, due to her health complications in Providencia, needed ground handling to stabilize her vital signs before she could start the transfer. Once the condition of the patient and her baby were stable, the aircraft crew sent all its resources to transport and monitor her in flight without having any complications.

After her arrival on the island, she was handed over to the San Andres ambulance service with stable vital signs to be taken to Clarence Lynd Newball Memorial Hospital, given specialty management and receive the corresponding treatment for her ailments, working for the baby's life.

With this transfer, the Caribbean Air Group completes 27 aeromedical transfer missions for the benefit of the island and native people of the Archipelago of San Andr茅s, Providencia and Santa Catalina, so far this year in fulfillment of the institutional mission of safeguarding the good physical condition of all Colombians
