Those arrested were allegedly responsible for criminal activities in the capital city of Vichada and planned to beat up members of the Military Forces.
In a joint operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, Colombian National Army, the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Unified operation Group for Personal Freedom - GAULA (ANTI-EXTORTION AND ANTI-KIDNAPPING GROUP)-, with the support of the Technical Investigation Corps -CTI- of the Attorney General's Office, two alleged members of the Organized Armed Group -GAO-ELN were arrested in Puerto Carreño, department of Vichada.
The operation took place in a farm in the municipality of Carreña, where the troops arrived to make effective a search warrant issued by judicial authorities. This was possible thanks to valuable information obtained by the Orinoquía Naval Intelligence System, which led to the identification and accurate confiscation of the individuals and the building used as a narcotics collection center.
During the raid of the place, the military in the same way found illegal merchandise that by its characteristics would correspond to narcotics, in addition to ammunition and communication equipment. For these reasons, the two individuals, of Colombian nationality, who allegedly belonged to the José Daniel Pérez Carrero front of the ELN, were arrested, one of them with a valid arrest warrant.
The two arrested, who were allegedly logistical coordinators for the transport of material, the collection of narcotics and responsible for criminal activities in the capital city of Vichada to beat members of the Military Forces, were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office, along with the material and other evidence elements.
