cogfm-fuerza-aerea-extincion-incendio-magdalena-10.jpg

In the middle of the fire that presents the Parque Nacional Natural Isla Salamanca in the Department of Magdalena, the Colombian Air Force, through the Bell 212 Bambi Bucket system of the Air Combat Command No. 3, discharges water on the flames that consume the natural reserve.

In this operation, firefighters have been transported to the most damaged sector, as well as 3,500 gallons of water and 10 gallons of retarding liquid, which have been essential to quell the fire.

During yesterday's activity helicopters flew for four hours, and it is expected to continue in this mission.

As a result of the flights, it was possible to find and keep safe three firefighters who were lost for more than five hours in a hard-to-reach place, who after the sudden event were taken to the mission's Unified Command post.

The Air Combat Command No.3 will continue to work in the zone, in order to control the flames, and end the fire that hits the community of both the departments of Magdalena and Atlantico.
