Given the imminent concern about the world alert due to the Coronavirus, COVID-19, the Air Combat Command No.2, CACOM2, of the Colombian Air Force, is carrying out campaigns and the dissemination of decree 457 of 2020 in the Eastern Plains with the purpose of mitigating the risks of the pandemic in the region.
This call to the community to remain calm and follow the instructions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 is made by a UH-60 helicopter, configured by the unit's crews with the L-RAD 1,000 air loudspeaker around the villages near CACOM-2 base and on the city of Villavicencio. In the alert, they motivate the inhabitants to wash their hands, prevent physical contact, use protection elements and stay home during the quarantine.
This institutional initiative is aligned with the measures adopted by the Ministry of Health, and the unit's military personnel concentrate their efforts to continue fulfilling the constitutional mission and actively join these preventive activities in order to participate in the containment of COVID- 19 in the Meta department; in the same way troops accompany citizens during this health emergency.
Thus, the Colombian Air Force has its air capabilities to create awareness in the community to adopt security measures and to stay at home. In this way, the soldiers of land, sea, river and air, in addition to their constitutional duty, put themselves at the service of the pople, acting in solidarity and promoting good practices to contain Covid-19.
