Air Force participates in projects to improve the education of Antioquia's children

Antioquia. Elaine Echeverry "The teacher", as everyone calls her in the village, was the architect of this project, she requested support for the adaptation of the Rural School to the Commander of the Air Base "BG. Arturo Lema Posada ", in Rionegro, in the department of Antioquia, who through the program "Corazon Amigo", authorized the resources to start the works.

This plan collects resources of the officers, non-commissioned officers and civilians of the Colombian Air Force, who through their generosity help execute social works that positively impact the children.

The "José Ignacio Botero" Rural school, in Palmarcito, in the municipality of El Santuario, Antioquia, provides quality education to more than 70 children. In the same way, it serves as a center for the communitarian mothers and the Communitarian action Board, where they receive training on topics such as leadership and entrepreneurship.

This hamlet in eastern Antioquia is notable for its agricultural production. It has reborn after years of being hit by the violence that hit the country. Many of the inhabitants were victims of displacement due to this problem and returned to see their children grow up in the same land where they did it.

The school was intervened by the Colombian Air Force, by the Air Combat Command No. 5, which was worked with the City Hall of the Secretary of Education, an Officer of the Reserve of the Colombian air force and the members of the Communitarian action Board.

Through this project, education will have a different face. Children and their parents and relatives will have new opportunities and a meeting point that will serve as a worthy space for the community.
