The authorities are intensifying operations aimed at neutralizing the organization's ability to carry out criminal operations.
Continuing with the beatings of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, troops of the Eleventh Brigade of Colombian National Army, in an inter-institutional work with the Technical Investigation Corps of the Attorney General's Office, arrested an individual known by the alias of Alexis, who allegedly was the head of area and finance of the Substructure Uldar Cardona Rueda.
The operation was reported in the vicinity of the municipality of Nechí, Antioquia. During the operation, the man was found in possession of 3 9 mm caliber pistols, ammunition for the same gun and magazines.
Additionally, the communications center of this Substructure was found, made of 7 radios, 5 cell phones, 2 repeaters and documentation alluding to the aforementioned illegal organization.
According to the investigations, alias Alexis was arrested in 2019 in the municipality of Buenavista, Córdoba, while he was directing the semi-rural armed groups of the criminal Substructure, which specialized in collecting extortions with handguns during the day and conducting patrols with long range rifles at night.
After having spent more than 3 years in prison, he was released on parole. He received the position of ringleader of the armed component, with criminal interference in Zaragoza, Antioquia.
Subsequently, he enjoyed the full confidence of alias Chirimoya, he was appointed zone ringleader in Nechí, Antioquia, committing crimes mainly in the rural sectors of Puerto Estilla and Las Conchas, belonging to this municipality.
The arrested man and the material found were put into custody of the authority to conduct the respective judicial processes.
With the arrest of this ringleader, the ability to carry out terrorist operations, intimidation, coercion is neutralized and illicit activities and the collection of money from extortion against the mining and agricultural sector by the Uldar Cardona Rueda substructure are reduced, generating a security environment for the inhabitants of the sector.
