In a stunning operation, another blow was dealt to the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Estructura Décima.
Troops of the Task Force Quirón captured an individual who would be alias El Mono, member of the support network of the residual group in the department of Arauca. This person would have been in charge of criminal intelligence against the Military Forces and extort money from civilians.
The operation was carried out in the village of Puerto Jordán, municipality of Arauquita, Arauca, where troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No.29, by reconnaissance maneuvers, combated two individuals who intended to throw an explosive device at them. During the combat, this dangerous individual was injured.
Immediately, combat nurses, respecting human rights and International Humanitarian Law, provided him with first aid, transferring him to the capital of the department, where he was assisted in the health center and discharged successfully.
During the judicial process by the authority, a hand grenade, which he hid in his private parts, was seized.
