After several months of investigation and by court order, the Military Forces, in support of the Attorney General's Office, arrested alias José Mentiras, who according to the authorities would have a criminal record of more than 15 years and would allegedly be responsible for the forced displacement of two families in the municipality of Calamar, Guaviare.
Alias José Mentiras, alleged member of the support network of the residual Organized Armed Group, Structura Primera, had an arrest warrant for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes, rebellion and forced displacement.
This individual would have approximately 15 years, since his entry in 2008, in the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, frente primero, where he would have committed crimes on the Miraflores sector, near Barranquillita, municipality of San José del Guaviare. After several years, he would have expanded his criminal operations on the banks of the Unilla River, in the villages Agua Bonita Media, Agua Bonita Baja, Altamira, Pueblo Seco, La Floresta, Puerto Palma, La Yuquera, Puerto Zancudo and the urban area of the municipality of Calamar, in the department of Guaviare.
According to information, he would have carried out criminal logistical movements and coordination for the entry of logistical material to the camp areas in the middle of the jungle, mainly supplies for the manufacture and processing of narcotics, as well as supplies for the criminal structure.
He is in the same way accused of demanding sums of money as a result of extortions in the region, responsible for the displacement of two families in the rural area of the municipality of Calamar, in 2021, and in September 2022; he apparently would in the same way have participated in the terrorist operation against the police post of that municipality by launching an explosive device, which left several material damages to the surroundings of the station, including some houses, fortunately without human losses.
To the Fourth Division of the Army this arrest means an important blow to cybercrime and the factors of instability, since the relationship of the GAO-r with the trafficking networks of weapons, explosives and logistical material with which alias José Mentira, who would come arming the Structure, is hit.
In addition to giving greater tranquility to the inhabitants of this region, his apprehension leads to end the multiple collection ways of illegal money, such as extortion, from which illicit activities feed.
