The authorities made effective a judicial order issued by the Attorney General's Office against this individual.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops of the Selva Battalion N.掳 57, attached to the Eleventh Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the Criminal and Judicial Investigation Section of the Police, reported the arrest of alias Julio, alleged microtrafficking coordinator of the Uldar Cardona Rueda Substructure, of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
The military operation was carried out in the village of Puerto Jobo, municipality of Zaragoza, department of Antioquia, where the military and police authorities materialized the arrest by means of a judicial order for the crime of association to commit aggravated crimes.
According to intelligence information, alias Julio has a criminal experience of approximately 10 years within this armed group, during which he has played different roles and exercised control in the municipalities of Zaragoza and El Bagre, Antioquia.
Between 2015 and 2020, he was a criminal viewpoint or observer, reporting movements of the Military Forces and carrying out criminal intelligence work in the area. Later, he became involved in micro-trafficking activities from a warehouse where he received, supervised and packaged coca paste and marijuana base for distribution.
Later, he assumed control of the drug entries and exits of the collection center, in addition to coordinating distribution points. In recent years, he became directly responsible for the distribution of narcotics in El Bagre and Zaragoza, consolidating as a key actor in sustaining the illicit activities of the substructure.
Alias Julio was put into custody of the authorities for the continuation of the investigations and the definition of his judicial situation.
By means of this arrest, the accounting control of local drug trafficking is interrupted, which generates gaps in the coordination of illicit activities, and leads to hitting the distribution of the product. In the same way, the coverage of the illegal market is reduced and the possibility of internal disorganization in the criminal structure is opened.
