Alias Mexicano, alleged ringleader of a gang at the service of the residual GAO Hernando González Acosta was arrested

Capturado alias 'Mexicano', presunto cabecilla de un grupo delincuencial al servicio de la estructura residual 'Hernando González Acosta'

Within the framework of a coordinated and inter-institutional operation, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Huila and the Field Artillery Battalion N.° 9 Tenerife, units of the Ninth Brigade, in coordination with the Attorney General's Office and the support of the Metropolitan Police of Neiva, reported arrests by court order of a man known as Mexicano or Flaco.

The procedure was carried out through follow-up and intelligence work that led to finding him when he was trying to evade the action of the authorities, moving on a collective passenger transport bus bound for the south of the department of Huila. The arrest took place at a military checkpoint.

The 40-year-old man had a court order in force for the alleged crimes of aggravated homicide and the manufacture, trafficking and illegal carrying of firearms, for events that occurred on January 13, in the San Jorge neighborhood of Neiva, where he apparently caused the death of a citizen after an argument.

According to the investigations, alias Mexicano would be the alleged ringleader of the organized gang Los Inters, a structure that, according to preliminary information, operated as an outsourced component at the service of the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Hernando González Acosta.

This organization, with criminal experience of approximately three years, would be linked to selective homicides, extortions, thefts and launching of explosive devices to pressure illegal payments in the departments of Huila, Boyacá, Tolima and the Coffee Axis, with the purpose of strengthening the finances of the Isaías Pardo Bloc, a structure that is part of the so-called Central General Staff, commanded by alias Ivan Mordisco.

In the same way, the authorities have established that this criminal network utilized minors for criminal intelligence activities and the execution of illegal acts, expanding its military operations capacity.

The arrested reports judicial notes for homicide, threatening witnesses, association to commit crimes and illegal carrying of weapons. According to the collected records, in 2014 he allegedly carried out criminal activities in Mexico, a country where he apparently consolidated ties through criminal structures, a situation that gave rise to his alias. Subsequently, in 2017 he was part of the Los Rolos group, in Neiva, and, after its dismantling, assumed the leadership of Los Inters. Today, he would be extending his activities to other countries in the region such as Ecuador and Paraguay.

Through this arrest, a criminal network that held a risk for social leaders, merchants, public officials and vulnerable people is significantly weakened. This result of the military operation hits the finances and the capacity of action of illegal structures that commit crimes in the region.
