Approximately 4,000 liters of what would be “Pategrillo” were seized in the Shipyards zone in Norte de Santander

This material would have a cost of 85 million pesos.

In development of a military operation of territorial control of the area, soldiers of the National Army found approximately 4,000 liters of what would be Pategrillo, an illegally extracted petroleum processed as rudimentary fuel, which was illegally transported on the Cúcuta - Sardinata route (Norte de Santander).

Our soldiers of the Mechanized Cavalry Group No.5, providing security to people this Easter, were conducting a checkpoint on the Ye of Shipyards, when they noticed the displacement of a Venezuelan vehicle adapted with four plastic dices (containers) to transport fuel illegally.

This material, which is used as precursor for the production of coca paste base, in the same way serves as a source of financing for organized armed groups that commit crimes in this area of the department.

The material and the vehicle were put into custody of the authority for their respective prosecution.
