The children would have found the device abandoned near their house, apparently by Eln terrorists.
Troops of the National Army, in Arauca, thanks to the information by the network of civic participation, reported the finding and neutralization of an abandoned explosive device that was found by minors who live nearby, in the sector known as San Diego, urban area of the municipality of Tame, Arauca.
There, the little ones played to recycle objects that were on the way. According to the first information, the minors found a plastic container, which contained some metal elements that they could not identify and immediately informed their parents.
The adults, alarmed by the finding that their children had just made, removed them of the place and immediately gave notice to National Army troops who were near this area carrying out security work.
The reaction of the troops was not long in coming and they immediately arrived at the point and after checking the container they confirmed that it was a rudimentary explosive device which contained shrapnel and an electric shock as part of the activation system.
The members of the Military Forces isolated the place and anti-explosive technicians of the Eighth Division, neutralized under controlled way the device, which was intended to be used in terrorist operations against civilians by the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Eln.
With this operation, a tragedy was prevented in this humble family of the municipality of Tame, Arauca.
