In the course of military operations carried out in the department of Arauca, it was possible to capture the alleged head of finances and ringleader of the front Domingo Laín Sáenz, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.
Thanks to military intelligence, the operation took place in the center of Puerto Nidia, in the municipality of Fortul, in the department of Arauca, where a new blow was dealt to the economic and criminal capacity of this Organized Armed Group.
The troops of the Quirón Task Force, organic unit of the Eighth Division, in an inter-institutional work with the Special Prosecutor EDA 118 and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the department of Arauca, captured a woman who was known as “La Patrona”, who was required by court warrant for the crime of rebellion. According to the investigations, this woman would have spent eight years in the illegal armed organization, and would be in charge of managing the finances. In the same way, she would be lending his name to acquire goods with money from the crime of drug trafficking and related crimes.
The woman was put into custody of the authorities to continue with her judicial process. With this operation, the ELN loses terrorist capacity in the urban and rural area of Fortul, with the neutralization of its logistical and financial support.
