The Colombian Navy, through the Specific Command of San Andrés and Providencia, is constant in its deployment of all its resources to provide conditions of security and tranquility to residents and visitors during the mid-year tourist season in the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina.
With more than 800 men and women, the Specific Command of San Andrés and Providencia, through the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés, the Navy Infantry Battalion No. 11, Colombian National Army component, the Colombian Aerospace Force, and coordinated with the National Police, the Maritime General Directorate - DIMAR and the other authorities of the Archipelago, strengthens security operations on land, sea and air.
As part of this, maritime and land patrols, checkpoints, checks and surveillance acts are carried out in the main tourist sectors, beaches, docks, roads and shipping routes, with the purpose of preserving order, protecting the inhabitants and safeguarding human life at sea.
This joint maintains a permanent response capacity to any situation that may affect security, strengthening coexistence and tranquility to those visiting one of the most important tourist destinations in the Colombian Caribbean.
