Army and Navy dismantle alleged war material trafficking network of GAO Clan del Golfo, in Antioquia

The individuals had a valid arrest warrant for the crimes of association to commit crimes, manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts and ammunition.

 

Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan and through joint and inter-institutional military operations, troops of the National Army, with the Navy and the Attorney General's Office, reported through a search process the arrest of four alleged members of a war materiel trafficking network at the service of the Juan de Dios Úsuga Substructure, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.

 

The military operation took place in the urban area of the municipality of Turbo and the city of Medellín, in the department of Antioquia. The arrested individuals would be committing crimes such as supplying equipment of military accessories, weapons and ammunition to this criminal organization that commits crimes in the municipalities of the Urabá subregion.

 

Those arrested, aged between 23 and 50, were put into custody of the authorities and will have to face charges for manufacturing, trafficking and carrying weapons for the exclusive use of the Military Forces and association to commit crimes.
