Within the framework of territorial control and security operations on the southern highway route of the department, troops of the Special Energy and Road Battalion No. 12, of the Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with units of the National Police, carried out the arrest in flagrante delicto of five people who allegedly participated in criminal acts in the municipality of Garzón.
The military action was reported on the I-45 national route, in the Garzón – Gigante section, where thanks to the quick reaction of the units it was possible to intercept vehicles linked to the criminal act and recover the car that had been reported stolen.
During the procedure, four men and one woman were arrested for the alleged crimes of reception of illegal elements, tempted theft, personal injuries and violation residence.
Those arrested, along with the items found and recovered, were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office, the authority in charge of conducting the corresponding judicial processes.
The Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to the security of Huila and will continue to carry out coordinated operations with the National Police to counter vehicle theft and other crimes that hit the tranquility of the inhabitants.
