Ejército y Policía capturan en Mapiripán, Meta, a un sujeto por el delito de tráfico de material de guerra

The individual arrested was in the same way transporting military equipment that would be used by an organized armed group.

Within the framework of military and police operations conducted in sustained manner against the factors of criminality in the departments of Guaviare and Meta, and thanks to the information from the Civic Participation Network, an individual was arrested in flagrante delicto in the village of Guacamayas of Mapiripán, Meta, for the crimes of trafficking in war materiel and wearing uniforms for exclusive use of the Military Forces.

At the site soldiers of the Infantry Battalion N°19 General Joaquín Paris, attached to the Twenty-Second Rainforest Brigade and police officers of the Guaviare, found 114 cartridges of different calibers, an AK 47 rifle magazine, 10 olive-green uniforms, four multipurpose vests, four hammocks, two communications radios and two motorcycles. Additionally, it was possible to confiscate three payment stubs with a stamp, with which apparently this criminal planned to extort the money of the inhabitants.

Through this result, the logistical and financial structures of the organized armed groups, which have been committing crimes in this region of the country, are dealing powerful blows.
