Army and police attack drug trafficking in the department of Quindío

Ejército y Policía atacan el narcotráfico

In compliance with the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops of the Mountain Battalion Nº 5, in coordination with the Departmental Police of Quindío, carried out a decisive action operation on the road that leads from Salento, department of Quindío, to the municipality of Toche, department of Tolima, which managed to hit the illegal finances of drug trafficking.

Through a checkpoint on this road axis and thanks to tactical intelligence information, a stop signal was made to a van-type vehicle, which ignored the indication. Immediately, the driver, tried to escape, lost control and overturned on the road.

Immediately, the car was checked by the troops and officers of the National Police, who found a shipment of 925 kilograms of marijuana, packed in pressed packages.

It is noteworthy that, in order to go unnoticed, the person driving the van, used a route of the department of Valle del Cauca, taking the national highway, a tertiary road that connects with Salento, department of Quindío, to continue towards the department of Tolima.

It is important to note that this shipment contained a type of exotic marijuana, which differs from conventional marijuana by its presentation in different flavors and smells. This narcotic would be distributed in the drug dealers posts in the city of Ibagué, department of Tolima.

Colombian National Army, through coordinated efforts with the National Police, will continue to attack the factors of instability, including drug trafficking, in the department of Quindío.
