As part of the security strategies, National Army troops and the police seized more than 300 kilograms of marijuana, preventing the circulation of more than 600,000 doses in the department; a man was the arrested.
As part of this military operation, the Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army, through the troops of the 26th Pigoanza Infantry Battalion and the 11th Light Cavalry Group, with the judicial support of the National Police in the department of Huila, dealt a new blow against illicit activities that damages the security and tranquility of the region.
The operation took place at a checkpoint on a highway axis of the department, where authorities seized 310 kilograms (620 kilos) of marijuana that was transported in a private vehicle. During the procedure, a man was arrested and he will have to answer for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
According to initial information obtained during the operation, the drug was allegedly obtained in the department of Cauca and its final destination would be the city of Neiva, where it was supposedly going to be distributed. The cargo is estimated to cost 150 million pesos in the illegal market.
According to preliminary investigations, this illicit substance would be part of the illegal activities of the Isaías Pardo Central Bloc, Hernando González Acosta Substructure, an organization that would seek to finance its criminal activities through drug trafficking.
The arrested man, the vehicle and the narcotic were put into custody of the authority, which will carry out the corresponding judicial process.
Colombian National Army, through the Ninth Brigade, ratifies its commitment to continue carrying out operations that weaken criminal structures and close the way to illicit activities, thus contributing to the safety and well-being of the inhabitants of the Department of Huila.
